BACA COUNTY COURTHOUSE

This 1913 historic train depot, located in Otero County, Colo., once provided the gateway for passengers traveling to and from the community during much of the twentieth century. The building was built to replace an older, first generation depot and is an intact example of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad Company’s combination passenger and freight depots. It features solid brick construction, functional convenience, and mission revival inspired styling. White Construction Group custom made wood trusses, roof decking, doors, flooring and interior and exterior trim to replicate elements that were too badly damaged to be reused. The result was historically accurate construction details with nearly perfect replication of materials. This building was renovated to house Manzanola’s police station, city hall, senior center and a new museum.
