DOUGLAS COUNTY
INDOOR ARENA

Castle Rock, Colorado

No question, Douglas County is horse country and there's a tremendous need for facilities to accommodate all the equestrian activities in the area. The Douglas County Indoor Arena was a fast track, design-build project. Located on the Douglas County Fairgrounds, this arena is a 180-foot by 280-foot, pre-engineered metal building utilizing EagleSpan® that includes a concession area, restroom facilities, bleachers, an announcer's booth, audio system, and special soil for the arena approved by the American Quarter Horse Association. The challenge of this fast-track project was to complete the assembly of the pre-engineered building, install all infrastructures and deposit the arena soil within a nine-month period, in time for critical community events. The facility now is regularly used for family events, the annual county fair, barrel racing, polo and team roping events, and training.
